Welcome to the Centre for Spiritual Living Edmonton-Metro.
The Centre for Spiritual Living Edmonton-Metro is an empowering, wholehearted community, teaching Spiritual Principles that inspire humanity to live in love, peace and joy.
It is a spiritual community where individuals are supported in discovering their inner wholeness and greater potential. We teach a philosophy called the Science of Mind, a teaching based on New Thought and Ancient Wisdom. It blends the best of the world’s faith teachings with philosophy and science to provide the individual with powerful tools for self-understanding and life enrichment. We honour and invite people of all faiths, lifestyles, backgrounds and ethnicities. We believe in the Oneness of all life and of all people. We welcome you to explore with us! We are about Living Extraordinary Lives.
Sundays at Metro
We offer a Sunday morning service starting at 10:30 a.m. There is a pre-service meditation at 10:00 a.m. Each week there is fabulous music, transformative prayer, and an inspirational message. Our services are fun (we laugh), engaging (you are welcome to stand and clap to the music) and, at the same time, uplifting. The service lasts approximately 1 hour. We have visiting afterward in our sanctuary and our front lobby.
Can we bring our kids?
Children are welcome in the service, and we have “Kid Packs” for colouring for younger children. Our children’s programs vary and are based on the current demand.
What’s the easiest way to get to Metro?
Centre for Spiritual Living Edmonton-Metro is on the SW corner of 113 Street and 106 Avenue.
We are 2 blocks (there is a walking path) north of Oliver Square. Walking path is north on 113 Street. We have on-street parking.
What should I wear?
We are an eclectic bunch – some folks wear jeans and some folks dress up. Please be comfortable. We are just happy you want to join us!
How can I meet people?
During the service, you will be invited to fill out a connection card. These cards tell us a little about you and the kinds of things you might find interesting at Metro. Turn these cards in at our welcome table after service. Chat with one of our ministers or greeters who would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Enjoy a cup of coffee and meet other like-minded people. The monthly calendar available at the welcome table will tell you about upcoming classes, workshops or other activities that might be of interest to you. And you can stay in touch through our Facebook page.
How can I learn more about the Centre for Spiritual Living Edmonton-Metro and its teachings
Metro offers ongoing monthly workshops called “The Inspired Living Series.” These are presented throughout the year to our community and the community at large. It is a $25.00 investment for this wonderful evening. The workshops are:
- Live Your Passion
- Living in Harmony & Love
- Living in Health & Wholeness
- Living in Abundance of all good things
These workshops offer tools to and an introduction to our teachings.
Additionally, we provide a Welcome Package with information and our website provides information about our teachings. We offer classes that provide the opportunity to study in more depth.
What if I would like to volunteer?
Thank you for your interest. We would love to have you participate. Please let one of the ministerial team know when you next visit or you can call our church office during the week and we will connect you with our Service Ministry team leaders.
Is there prayer support for newcomers?
Metro is built on a foundation of prayer. We have 15 prayer partners (we call them practitioners) — individuals who will support you in an affirmative prayer on Sundays and throughout the week. You can fill out a written Prayer Request each Sunday and you will receive dedicated prayer that day and each day during the week. If you would like more in-depth spiritual support, you can schedule a 1-hour session with any of our practitioners by calling them directly. Pick up the brochure in the lobby or give us a call at 780-452-1711 for more information.
Are there other services besides Sunday mornings?
We have bi-monthly Monday evening meditations going on throughout the year. They begin at 6:30 and usually go for 1 hour.
There is a Taize-inspired Sacred Reflections ceremony 4 times a year. These start at 7 p.m. and usually run about 1-1/2 hour in length. In 2017 they are scheduled for: January 4th, April 5th and July 5th. These ceremonies bring a depth of awakening with music, readings, and meditations and allow for a wonderful internal experience.
